Another Coalition Avenir Québec cabinet minister leaves politics.
Labor Minister Jean Boulet said today during his trip to Trois-Rivières that he will not seek re-election in the October 5 provincial election.
First elected in 2018, Boulet has held a number of cabinet posts under former Prime Minister François Legault and more recently Prime Minister Christine Fréchette.

He said he wanted to seek other professional opportunities after eight years working in portfolios such as labour, immigration, economics and Canadian relations.
Boulet joins a list of about 30 CAQ legislators who have said they will not seek re-election, including a number of prominent cabinet ministers.
Boulet said the party’s low poll numbers were not a factor in his decision to step down, adding that Fréchette had his full support.
