The Fraser Canyon wildfire continues to threaten residents and property


Larger wildfires continue to threaten residents and property in BC’s Fraser Canyon.

The fire at the Brunswick Complex raged, tearing through the woods and burning closer to the Boston Bar.

The Ainslie Creek fire is now estimated at more than 15,500 acres, and the Brunswick Creek fire across the river is now estimated at 2,600 acres.

Firefighters are doing everything they can to extinguish the out-of-control blaze that has destroyed a number of houses.

One of the hardest hit was Blue Lake Resort north of Boothroyd.

The entrance to the resort is now littered with fallen trees and debris strewn everywhere.

“When it comes to sleep, you can’t sleep because all the time, you know, everything is going through your head and you’re just thinking about this little thing, that little thing,” said Saeed Mansouri, operations manager at the resort who lost his home in the fire.

“Yes, it is, but the morale is increasing.”

Evacuation warnings are in effect for the Ainslie Creek bushfire and there are two evacuation warnings and seven evacuation orders for the Brunswick Creek fire.
