The Manitoba government says it will install fencing and other safety measures at the site of two boys’ drownings earlier this month.
Brothers Aaron and Maximo Au Ramirez, aged 13 and 10, were swept away by the strong current heading towards Nutimik Lake.

Environment Minister Mike Moyes said plans for updates to the site at Whiteshell Provincial Park also include building a fenced viewing area and updating signage to be installed by 2023.
The old nameplate was installed after 12 year old Usaid Habib drowned at the location.
Moyes said the government’s response came after a safety assessment on high-risk routes across the province that he ordered completed in the wake of the latest tragedy.
The provincial government said it was still reviewing whether additional security measures were needed elsewhere in the province’s more than 90 national parks.
