A 39-year-old man is dead following a shooting in Dartmouth Friday evening, according to Halifax Regional Police.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting on Lahey Street around 10:30 p.m., police said in a news release.

Arriving at the scene, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The death is being investigated as a homicide by the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division’s Major Crimes Unit.
Police have not identified the victim and said the shooting was not believed to have been random.
