Singer Oliver Tree’s body has been returned to the United States, one week after the internet personality was listed as a passenger on the helicopter involved in a fatal crash near Rio de Janeiro that killed six people.
On Sunday, Tree’s team shared an Instagram post on its official account, honoring the late singer and revealing that his body had been transported back to California following the crash of two helicopters on June 14.
“Rest in peace Oliver Tree Nickell June 29, 1993 – June 14, 2026. Your legacy will live on forever. Thank you to everyone who has reached out, shown love, support, and has paid incredible tribute to Oliver,” the post began.
“Love, support and constant positivity are helping families, friends and collaborators get through these incredibly difficult times.”
His team said Tree’s body has returned to California, “where he can finally rest.”
“His legacy will live on through a foundation/endowment named ‘Dr. Oliver Tree’s Very Epic Grant for Genius Babies’ coming soon,” his team announced. “This was something that Oliver had laid out before his death, written in his will. We will make sure his wish comes true so that more joy, love and art can be spread into the world, that was his final wish.”
“I love you all so much, Oliver would be so proud of all his supporters, friends and family. Peace be with Oliver.”
In April, Tree spoke about wanting to give away “wealth or things that come from it.”
“When I die – I have it set – my wishes are set that when I die, my family, no one will get a penny,” he said during his appearance on the show. The Zach Sang Show.
“If I had a wife or kids or whatever, [they’re] didn’t make much money. I’m going to put my kids through college — that’s the deal. But there will be no silver spoon…. The idea is, when I die, all the money will go back to the artists.”
Tree was among those listed on a passenger list submitted to aviation authorities for one of the helicopters that crashed in the parking lot of a car dealership last week.
