Oakwell Reimagines Mother’s Day Spa Articles – ArticleTed

Years ago, a Mother’s Day featuring Mom soaked in beer might have been considered a disaster. Since the opening of Oakwell Beer Spa in 2021, it’s been a celebration.

At Oakwell Beer Spa, Mom isn’t doused with real beer. She soaks in a warm, aromatic bath infused with hops, barley, and therapeutic herbs, part of a growing trend toward experiential wellness gifts that prioritize relaxation, connection, and self-care.

“Mother’s Day has evolved,” says Jessica Zouaoui, co-founder and CEO of Oakwell Beer Spa and mother of a two-year-old with a little brother on the way. “More and more families are looking for meaningful ways to spend time together, and experiences like a spa day create memories that traditional gifts cannot.”

This Mother’s Day, Oakwell Beer Spa invites families to skip the traditional brunch or flowers and instead give Mom an experience designed to help her relax, recharge and feel appreciated.

Oakwell’s signature experience begins in its taproom, where guests enjoy a rotating selection of beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, before moving on to a 90-minute session in a private spa suite equipped with a hop and barley-infused soaking tub, infrared sauna and rain shower.

The beer bath itself does not contain yeast and is not fermented. Instead, this drink contains natural ingredients from beer — hops and barley — known for their soothing and skin-soothing properties. Hops are a natural sedative whose aromatherapy creates a sense of calm, while barley is rich in vitamins and minerals that work wonders on skin and hair. The experience ends with a full-body massage in a high-tech, robotics-equipped massage chair before returning to the tap room for a final sip, snack and socializing.

The result is a treatment that combines centuries-old bathing traditions with a modern, social spa environment.

“Many of our guests are visiting the spa for the first time,” says Damien Zouaoui, co-founder of Oakwell Beer Spa. “The beer elements make the experience feel approachable and fun, while the health benefits keep them coming back.”

Oakwell Beer Spa locations in Downtown Denver and Highlands Ranch are in high demand leading up to Mother’s Day, with gift cards and pre-orders already popular options.

“Whether it’s a mother-daughter outing, a couples experience, or a group celebration, Oakwell Beer Spa gives people a different way to say thank you,” adds Jessica Zouaoui. “It’s not just a gift. It’s the time together that creates the memories.”

For those who can’t make it that weekend or who are outside of Colorado, Oakwell Beer Spa offers a line of beer-infused bath and body products (visit oakwellcosmetics.com).

And if you’d like to find an Oakwell Beer Spa where you live, it may be coming to your town soon. After being recognized by USA Today’s 10 Best as one of the best spas in the country, named to TIME’s list of the World’s Greatest Places, and honored by Entrepreneur as one of America’s Best Mom & Pop Shops, Oakwell Beer Spa began expanding nationally through franchising in 2026.
