Doug Ford’s Ontario Progressive Conservative Party has changed its media ban policy at its upcoming convention.
The party is set to ban journalists from accessing the event for the first time since Ford became prime minister in 2018.

PC Party spokesman Peter Turkington said journalists would be allowed to attend Ford’s speech at a fundraising dinner on Saturday.
Turkington did not explain the initial ban or why it was reversed.
Ford defended the move earlier this week, saying he was always available to reporters, but the convention would not be available.
The convention will take place this weekend at the Toronto Congress Center in suburban Etobicoke, not far from Ford’s home.
