Three people were injured after a woman opened fire outside a party in Brighton overnight, police officials said Saturday.
The shooting happened at 12:26 a.m. near Bridge Street and South Eighth Avenue, the Brighton Police Department said in a news release.
Witnesses told police that a fight broke out when the suspect pulled out a gun and started shooting at the house and people standing in the front yard.
Officers at the scene found a 23-year-old woman, an 18-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. The man was treated and released from the hospital and both women are in critical but stable condition, police said.
Witnesses told police that the woman who shot at the house fled the scene. Officers determined the woman, 19-year-old Casandra Rocha-Martinez, was later involved in a car crash.
A 23-year-old woman in the same vehicle was injured when she was thrown from the car in the crash, Brighton police said.
Rocha-Martinez was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and vehicular assault. Information about his bail and subsequent court appearance was not available Saturday.
